When an Anxiety attack occurs you need to deal with it as quickly as possible, otherwise it will develop quickly and you will give into the fear. Imagine it, during an anxiety attack your heart beats faster, you sweat a lot more and you feel totally helpless. It is absolutely vital that you help combat anxiety at an early stage; this will enable you to manage it a lot better. This article list various ways in which you can deal with anxiety as soon as it occurs. If you try all of these techniques then you are well on your way to leading a better life.
Learn to face your fears
This is the top tip that I have for dealing with anxiety. You have to learn to challenge your fear. Every time a fear manifests itself you need to ask numerous questions; is this fear substantial, what are the chances of it actually becoming a reality, and most importantly what factors contribute to this fear.
If you challenge these negative thoughts then you will be dealing with the stress caused quickly and effectively. Summon all possible willpower and convince yourself that your fear is irrational, this technique may take a while to develop but once you have mastered it you will be dealing with anxiety quickly and easily allowing you to live your life without being hounded by irrational fears.
Analysis of the Situation
The next technique I use for dealing with anxiety is something I call ‘analysing the situation’. This technique will help you regain belief that you control a situation, thereby helping you deal with stress.
In your mind you need to take a look at the situation and run through exactly what you need to do to help combat your fear. You should come up with solutions in your mind to dealing with the situation and give rational analysis to each of them to help find the best solution. Try to look at the benefits of each solution rather than the negatives; otherwise you could actually be increasing anxiety levels.
As an example take the fear of being divorced. Rather than think about how you will be left alone, think about how you will actually be able to cope with the divorce financially as you hold a fantastic stable job which pays extremely well. Perhaps even look at the separation as a good thing because it may help you find your soul mate.
Visualising a Relaxing Place
This technique does require a bit of effort on your part. Once you have mastered it however it will be much easier to use this in the future.
The main goal here is to close your eyes and imagine that you are in a relaxing place where absolutely nothing can harm you, especially not the cause of your anxiety. Imagine the beautiful scenery around you, create in your mind what you feel is the perfect place.
Another good technique is to think back to a happier memory, one where you are surrounded by the people who love you. This will help make you feel instantly better.
